Pendant comprising domed openwork design styled upon the 100 BC. “Brentford” chariot hub-cap. The beautiful lyrical pattern includes the classic Pelta motif, duck heads and the triskele, for which Celtic artwork of this period is renowned.
Inspiration: Brentford chariot hub-cap decoration 100 BC.
The low-relief design of linked palmettes and stylised duck-heads on the original chariot hub-cap, is of Continental Celtic style. This flowing design is now highlighted in my sterling silver openwork. The original hub-cap was found in the Thames at Brentford.
